Week 8: Outro

I’ve come to my final post, and I’m still working on my sixth track. This week had been hectic as I’ve been trying to complete all my assessments in time, before I leave for Samoa. The backing track for this  is only one minute and fifty three seconds, yet it’s difficult to come up with a concept and speak on many societal issues as I have been.

I’ve listened to a few Hip Hop albums and the way concepts flow into the outro track. I’ve noticed that the outro track is like the stamp or conclusion to your argument of the albums concept. The conclusion doesn’t bring any new ideas, it just sums up the Tracks which are like paragraphs that give points. So, the question I have posed to myself is what is my EP’s concept. Let’s dicsuss that.

The EP is titled A Son of Polynesia. I’m a son of Polynesia, of samoan descent. The tracks are an insight into my life of being a broke rapper in New-Zealand, who doesn’t own his own vehicle, catches public transport where he sees pretty girls. I keep it humble and Wavey whilst showing love and support to homegrown talent. This is what I think a Son of Polynesia goes through, ups and down yet having fun whilst being a youngin in life and Hip-Hop.

I have had many ideas on how I can end it. Make a summary of all the tracks into the song. Speak about racism. Religion (which plays an interesting role in my life and I haven’t dedicated a song to it yet). Many ideas and such little time. So for the next few days I’ll be working tirelessly to get this track done. May even finish it in Samoa, where the creativity flows well for me.

I’m excited to release this EP as I have been for the past eight weeks. I can’t wait to share it with the world. I’ve even begun thinking of ideas for my following project and how I can manage my time to getting it done with a plan. It’s on me to balance my schoolwork and music. With the right attitude, as some people like to put it, I’ll get it done. I’m ambitious and I know what I want.

Stay Blessed.
